Collection Drive for Goonj

Collection Drive for Goonj
THE CHALLENGE

Urban households often possess large quantities of usable clothing and household items that remain unused or are discarded, while many communities continue to lack access to essential resources. Bridging this gap requires not just collection, but responsible and dignified redistribution.

OUR INTERVENTION

How we responded.

We organized a community collection drive in support of Goonj. Community members donated clothing, bags, and household essentials, all of which were carefully washed, sorted, labeled, and packed in accordance with Goonj's “Care for Dignity” guidelines before being delivered to their Kolkata collection center.

OUTCOMES

What it added up to.

  • 250+ usable items collected and donated
  • 4 large bags of materials diverted from waste streams
  • Mobilized community participation around sustainable reuse
